Location Doral Full/Part Time Full-Time Exempt from Classified Service No Minimum Rate 49152.59 Min Pay Frequency Yearly Maximum Rate 89431.52 Max Pay Frequency Yearly Regular/Temporary Regular Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Must be a State of Florida Certified Correctional Officer or must possess a Certificate of Completion from a Correctional Officer Basic Recruit program issued by an accredited school of criminal justice in Florida, or must be currently enrolled in a Florida Correctional Officer Basic Recruit Program and pass the State Correctional Officer Certification Examination prior to being hired. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must pass the Physical Abilities Test (PAT) administered by the Assessment Center at Miami-Dade College Recruitment Notes Applicants will be subject to an extensive screening process to include a background investigation, fingerprint check, polygraph, psychological evaluation and medical examination. Additional pay supplements and incentives are available based on assignments to include night differential 10% for afternoon and midnight's and experience. Certified Correctional Officers will earn an additional $175 hazardous duty, FDLE 6.5%, and
FRPBA 5.0
% pay biweekly. The Personnel Management Bureau (PMB) will notify applicants via e-mail regarding their intake appointment. - Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Certification or Basic Recruit Certificate with passing state examination status.

- Certificate of Compliance for Correctional Officers issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement; or Certificate of Completion issued by an accredited criminal justice institute that indicates satisfactory completion of the Basic Corrections Training and the results of the State Officer Certification Examination for Criminal Justice Officers.
(For applicants currently enrolled in a Florida Correctional Officer Basic Recruitment Program) official transcript, current class schedule, or official letter from the Registrar, as proof of enrollment. Applicants must provide their MDC PAT result within one (1) month after their orientation/intake date.
