Open Until Filled Position Summary The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a Detention Deputy assigned to the Shoshone County Jail. This position is responsible for maintaining safety, security, and orderly operation of the jail while ensuring the constitutional rights and humane treatment of inmates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise inmates and enforce facility rules. Conduct booking, classification, and release procedures. Perform security checks and searches. Operate control room systems. Prepare reports and documentation. Respond to emergencies and disturbances. Transport inmates when assigned. Maintain professional interaction with staff and public. Minimum Qualifications 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or GED. Valid Idaho driver's license. Pass background investigation, drug screening, medical and psychological exams. Ability to obtain Idaho POST Detention Certification. Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. Benefits County medical and retirement benefits. Paid leave and holidays.
