Job Description

Performs the full range of supportive client assignments, utilizing the methods and procedures required to carry out the disposition of prisoner grievance matters in accordance with prisoner's due process rights in a State correctional facility. The work requires considerable knowledge of the proper methods/procedures for performing supportive client care assignment and extensive knowledge and understanding of Departmental and facility policies and procedures. Works with minimal supervision within established rules, regulations, policies, and oral instruction. Uses independent judgment within established guidelines in selecting a proper course of action. Education Completion of 15 semester (23 term) credits in any field. Experience Two years of experience equivalent to a Corrections Officer or Corrections Medical Aide, including one year equivalent to the Corrections Officer 9 or Corrections Medical Aide 9. Satisfactory completion of the Department of Corrections annual re-certification and training programs. The Department of Corrections will not hire individuals who have been convicted of a felony or who have felony charges pending, in accordance with Public Act 140 of 1996.
