Job Description

Job Summary Join our team! The Merrimack County Department of Corrections serves the community and its criminal justice system by providing security, supervision, and assistance to persons remanded to our custody. Our policy is to meet or exceed the standards set by the American Correctional Association, the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare, the New Hampshire Association of Counties, and the Merrimack County Board of Commissioners. Our Correctional Officers are focused on providing a safe and secure environment while managing the daily care, custody, and control of the inmates under correctional supervision. Required Education & Experience
EDUCATION
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Prior Correctional experience preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities with or without reasonable accommodation as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Certification or ability to obtain certification as a Certified Correctional Officer by the New Hampshire Association of Counties. NH Driver's License required unless residence is out of State.
