Job Description

The City of Monterey Park is now hiring for the part-time position of School Crossing Guard in the Police Department. This recruitment will be open on a continuous basis with first application review on September 9, 2026. The School Crossing Guard is responsible for the safe crossing of children at intersections near assigned schools. This position works split shifts and may perform job duties in inclement weather. This position only works when school is in session. This position is limited to 999 hours per fiscal year. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older, be in good health, and speak English fluently. Possession of a valid Class "C" California Drivers License and a clean driving record. An oral appraisal interview will evaluate the background and personal qualifications of each candidate. Regardless of the notification preference the candidate selected when creating the application (i.e., paper or email), APPLICANTS
