The Lead will independently manage an assigned class, supervise students, support homework completion, facilitate enrichment activities, and follow all program expectations and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and supervise an assigned after-school class each day. Take accurate daily attendance and maintain awareness of all students in your care. Follow the established after-school schedule, including snack, homework, enrichment, recreation, transitions, and dismissal. Provide homework and academic support while encouraging students to work independently. Plan and facilitate age-appropriate enrichment activities, games, projects, and structured recreation. Establish and consistently reinforce clear classroom expectations, routines, and behavior-management systems. Maintain a safe, respectful, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Actively supervise students at all times, including during transitions, outdoor activities, and dismissal. Follow all student sign-out and dismissal procedures to ensure students are released only to authorized individuals. Communicate concerns regarding student behavior, attendance, safety, or program needs to the After-School Coordinator or Director. Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, families, teachers, and other after-school staff. Collaborate with other staff and remain flexible when program needs or staffing changes require support. Follow all school and after-school program policies, including safety, emergency, and student-confidentiality procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, patient, flexible, and comfortable independently managing a group of students.
