Job Description

St. Vincent de Paul School in Fort Wayne is looking for part time recess monitors, and in particular a lead recess monitor. Recess monitors are responsible for integrating the mission of St. Vincent's and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend for the safe and responsible play and recreation of our students. Recess monitors team with our teaching assistants to keep our playground and blacktop, or indoor recess spaces, sources of both fun and safety for our students. Our lead recess monitor in particular acts as a liaison for administration with any support needed for our recess program, also supervising our recess monitor team. Needed hours for these positions are approximately 10:30-12:30 daily, though job sharing with less than five days/week is possible.
Job Responsibilities:
Understands, believes in, and communicates joyfully about the St. Vincent's mission and belief statements in all endeavors. Maintains appropriate control of recess areas, using PBIS techniques, to ensure the safety of all students. Works to build and grow professional relationship with students to further support student recess time. Lead recess monitor to provide regular and consistent communication with administration or lead teachers for student support as needed.
Qualifications:
High School diploma Motivated by love of Christ, love of kids, and ability to maintain safe environment for play throughout all K-8 recess groups. Positive references and recommendations Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals and objectives
