Job Description

Welcome! The Onondaga Central School District is located south of Syracuse in upstate New York nestled in a valley with rural surroundings. The district provides a tranquil environment in a picturesque setting, yet enjoys all the major cultural advantages of an urban area within a 20 minute drive. A staff of 183 full and part-time employees, three academic buildings, preschool, a transportation center, and administrative offices commonly serve an enrollment of approximately 740 students, Pre-Kindergarten to twelfth grade.
Please note:
Immediate need for certified substitute teachers ($150/day) and substitute teaching assistants ($124/day). Anticipated Lunch Monitor Rockwell Elementary has an opening for a lunch monitor starting 9/1/2026. The lunch monitor supervises elementary students during lunch periods, ensuring a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, assisting with basic needs related to eating (e.g., opening containers, cleaning spills), reinforcing school rules, and promoting a positive and caring atmosphere. The ideal candidate is nurturing, attentive, and dependable, with a strong commitment to student safety and well-being.
