JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and review of loan documentation for new commercial, SBA, real estate, equipment leasing and SNC loans, renewals, and modifications. Ensures loan documentation adheres to terms on Credit Memo and complies with Bank policies and procedures. Ensures timely disposition and control of legal documentation, collateral and documentation records. Coordinates final preparation of loan documents and closing procedures with applicable parties. Complies with bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulations. Prepares and distributes loan related forms and reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyzes entity documentation for borrowers, guarantors and collateral granters to verify good standing and ensure loan documents are properly prepared and authorized. Verifies approved loans conform to the Bank's policies and procedures and all pertinent governmental laws and regulations, and that all credit authorizations evidence appropriate approval levels based on the customer's total commitments, loan amount and loan type. Prepares loan documentation for new loans, renewals and modifications ensuring compliance and safe and sound practices for various types of loans including commercial, SBA, real estate, equipment leasing, SLC/LC and SNC loans in accordance with loan approval condition specifications. Supports loan documentation and closing functions while maintaining, expanding and building relationships, resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction. Responds to internal and external inquiries in a timely and satisfactory manner (i.e. Lending Units, Loan Servicing, Title and Escrow and legal counsel). Reviews loan document requests for completeness and accuracy to prevent costly revisions and negative customer impact. Communicates and resolves documentation issues or questions on the conditions/wording with lending units/legal. Coordinates final preparation of loan documents and closing procedures with applicable parties. Develops effective methods for timely tracking of various loan covenants, conditions and requirements. Maintains and records loan covenant tracking information including but not limited to annual reporting requirements (TRs. And F/S), insurance expiration dates, and UCC-1 dates. Ensure UCC-1 is completed timely. Prepares/reviews/maintains transaction related documentation in an orderly and retrievable manner. Ensures timely response to internal/external audit requests for information. Ensures timely preparation and remittance of Branch Monthly Loan Covenant Monitoring Letters. Performs credit and public record information searches (i.e. UCC and Secretary of State searches). Performs Daily Transaction Callbacks (i.e. review/scan/file). Performs Title Policy reviews to ensure accuracy (i.e. review/scan/file). Performs Documentation uploads to shares folders and/or LOS system. Ensures OFAC searches are performed in a timely manner on all applicable transaction related parties. Assists with processes loan payments, loan payoffs, loan disbursements, title/escrow fee refunds, loan transfers and annual statements. Prepare reconveyance documents confirming completeness and accuracy of payoff amounts received. Assists with Audit and/or Attorney requests. Maintains confidentiality of customer account information and follows policies and procedures when responding to inquiries and requests. Cross trains with other members of the department in order to perform back-up tasks for other departmental functions as required. Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and complies with all United States Federal and State Regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC laws and their implementing regulations. Complies with Wage and Hour regulations, including but not limited to taking meal and rest periods timely, recording time accurately, and reviewing/approving timecard. Supports the Bank's compliance efforts by completing compliance and other technical training workshops as assigned. Reads periodicals and attends external webinars/workshops to maintain an above average expertise of trends in lending/credit. Performs duties to ensure proper identification and information gathering of all parties subject to SBIC's Customer Information Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence Programs. Reports any Suspicious Activity to the BSA Officer or designee if found. Regular and punctual attendance required.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Minimum 2 years in commercial loan documentation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge or understanding of commercial loan terminology and requirements. Must be well organized, responsive, detail oriented and PC proficient (Microsoft Office Suite). Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and ability to multi-task. Experience working with LaserPro or other loan documentation software.
