POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Documentation Specialist develops, maintains, and improves quality system documentation that supports compliance, operational efficiency, and employee effectiveness. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to translate technical, scientific, manufacturing, service, and quality information into clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation while ensuring alignment with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and documentation standards.PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, revise, and maintain controlled documentation including policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, training materials, validation protocols, reports, user manuals, service manuals, and customer communications. Translate technical and scientific information into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand documentation for a variety of audiences. Ensure documentation complies with company standards, Quality Management System requirements, and established documentation practices. Support document control and change management activities, including document review, approval, release, and revision processes. Partner with subject matter experts and functional teams to gather information, document processes, and improve documentation effectiveness. Review documentation for accuracy, consistency, completeness, usability, and compliance with applicable standards. Identify opportunities to improve documentation quality, templates, workflows, and knowledge-sharing practices. Develop visual documentation elements, including diagrams, workflows, charts, photographs, and graphical illustrations, to enhance understanding Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Communications, Engineering Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field with 3 plus years of technical writing experience; OR Bachelors degree in a related field with 0 - 1 year of technical writing experience. Experience creating technical, operational, or quality-related documentation. Strong written communication and editing skills. Experience working with multiple stakeholders to gather and organize information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise content. Knowledge of document lifecycle management and change control processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Effective collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, document control practices, and content management processes preferred. Experience creating visual documentation and technical illustrations preferred.DISCLAIMER
