Job Overview Responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation for machine tools, turnkey automation systems, and engineering processes. Works closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop clear, accurate documentation that supports customers, service personnel, internal operations, and quality system requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain operating instructions and technical manuals for machine tools and turnkey automation systems, including operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, spare parts, layouts, and related engineering documentation. Assist mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers in developing clear and accurate technical documentation (e.g. maintenance and user guides) Assist Mechanical Engineers with creation and maintenance of part and assembly drawings in Solid works Update CAD models, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation to support engineering change requests and design revisions. Develop, update, and standardize Engineering department SOPs, work instructions, and documentation templates. Support
ISO 9001
compliance activities, including document control, audit preparation, and process documentation. Assemble and maintain customer, dealer, and service documentation packages. Update and manage standard machine, vendor, and engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency. Coordinate documentation activities with OEM engineering and documentation teams. Assist customers, dealers, and service personnel in locating and interpreting technical documentation. Maintain document revision records, electronic archives, and controlled documentation systems. Coordinate distribution of documentation and maintain associated records. Identify and implement improvements to documentation processes and standards. Perform other duties as assigned by management. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related field Prior work experience in engineering, manufacturing, or professional writing may be considered in lieu of education Working knowledge of Solidworks, Adobe Acrobat, SAP, MS Office, and Cosima (or similar)
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD program required Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, and assembly practices preferred Basic understanding of XML preferred but not required Fluent speaking/writing ability in German preferred Exceptional organizational and time management skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates a computer and other office equipment such as printers and copy machines. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent arm and hand movement of both limbs with the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists or reach with arms. Occasionally walks and stands; may stoop, kneel, or crouch. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting, moving, and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25 lbs. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences.
Pay:
$30.00 - $37.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
