Job Description
Instrumentum is a national sterile processing partner that helps hospitals and surgery centers run efficient, compliant, and safe instrument reprocessing operations. We ensure every instrument is surgery-ready, so our partners can focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care. We're hiring a Document Control Specialist to manage the quality documentation that keeps our operations audit-ready and our partner facilities running safely. This role is based on-site in the Richmond, VA area, supporting our account with a regional hospital system. What you'll need
- 1+ year of experience in document control, records management, or quality assurance, ideally in healthcare or a regulated industry
- Experience with electronic document management or quality management software; familiarity with Qualio, SafeCare, Salesforce, or similar platforms is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong attention to detail and comfort managing multiple document review cycles at once What you'll do
- Administer our document control system — policies, SOPs, work instructions, and forms — from creation through retirement
- Track review schedules, maintain version control, and process change requests
- Prepare documentation for internal audits, accreditation surveys, and regulatory inspections
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) documentation
- Serve as the on-site document control point of contact for our hospital account
- Train staff on document control processes and our quality management software What we offer
- $28.00-$32.00/hour, depending on experience
