Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Zoning Officer to join our Community Development team. In this vital role, you will oversee the enforcement of zoning regulations and local ordinances to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable development within the Township. Your expertise will help facilitate responsible growth, support public health initiatives, and maintain the integrity of our community's planning standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with government agencies, construction professionals, and the public to promote orderly development and environmental compliance. Responsibilities Review and interpret zoning regulations, environmental laws, and ordinances to ensure project compliance. Conduct site inspections for new construction, renovations, and land use activities to verify adherence to zoning laws and safety standards. Evaluate technical drawings, blueprints, and site plans for environmental impact considerations. Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, compliance status, and regulatory violations for submission to relevant authorities. Collaborate with developers, contractors, property owners, and public officials to facilitate permits and resolve zoning or code issues efficiently. Stay updated on changes in environmental law, local ordinances, Federal and State regulations related to public health, and construction regulatory compliance requirements. Provide zoning information and assistance to residents, property owners, developers, contractors, and Township officials. Prepare reports and attend meetings of the Zoning Hearing Board. Requirements Knowledge of zoning regulations, public permitting processes, and environmental compliance standards. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to prepare clear documentation for regulatory reporting purposes. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report preparation and data management. Ability to interpret local ordinances and enforce compliance effectively while maintaining professional integrity. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
