Water and Sewer Mechanic -
South Middleton Township Department:

Facility Superintendent FLSA:

Full-Time Pay Rate:
$55,000 - 65,000 A Mechanic is responsible for assisting the Facility Superintendent in overseeing the daily mechanical operations of all areas of the South Middleton Township Municipal Authority water and sewer systems operated and maintained by South Middleton Township.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Communicate regularly with the Lead Operator and Facility Superintendent and staff concerning operations, maintenance, and administrative matters related to the water and sewer systems.
  • Maintains and repairs facilities and equipment of the sewer and water systems.
  • Operate equipment and utilize a variety of hand, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Perform regular rounds on weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Be on-call and available 24-hours a day, as required in case of emergency.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO PERFORM WORK
  • Working knowledge of equipment and tools used in maintenance work
  • Working knowledge of electric motors, pumps, and wiring diagrams.
  • Analyze and solve problems.
  • Be accurate and have attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of computer and applications software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION/TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS
This position must possess and/or maintain the following, at minimum, throughout employment, as well as additional education/training/certification/licensure, as may be required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Commercial PA Driver's License Job Type:
