$55,000 - 65,000 An Operator is responsible for assisting the Lead Operator and Facility Superintendent in overseeing the daily operations of all areas of the South Middleton Township Municipal Authority water and sewer systems operated and maintained by South Middleton Township.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

• Communicate regularly with the Lead Operator and Facility Superintendent and staff concerning operations, maintenance, and administrative matters related to the water and sewer systems.
• Perform regular rounds on weekends and holidays, as required.
• Be on-call and available 24-hours a day, as required in case of emergency.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO PERFORM WORK

• Working knowledge of biology, chemistry, and hydraulics as it applies to water and wastewater treatment.
• Working knowledge of water and sewer operational technology.
• Analyze and solve problems.
• Be accurate and have attention to detail.
• Knowledge of computer

EDUCATION/TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

This position must possess and/or maintain the following, at minimum, throughout employment, as well as additional education/training/certification/licensure, as may be required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Commonwealth of Pennsylvania D.E.P. Certifications for Water and Wastewater Systems
