Job Description

Fire Marshal - City of Chandler, Arizona The Chandler Fire Department is seeking an experienced fire prevention professional to serve as Fire Marshal, leading the Department's Fire Prevention Division. Reporting to an Assistant Fire Chief, the Fire Marshal manages fire prevention, fire plan review, and fire investigation efforts protecting the lives and property of more than 292,000 residents in one of Arizona's fastest-growing, most innovative communities. This is a chance to shape policy, mentor inspectors and investigators, and partner with residents and developers as Chandler continues to grow. Chandler Fire is an internationally accredited, ISO Class 1-rated, all-hazards department operating 11 fire stations with 291 FTEs. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of fire prevention, inspection, and fire cause and origin investigation; strong supervisory and leadership experience; and the ability to balance code enforcement with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to the development and business community. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Business Management, or a related field; five years of fire prevention/inspection/investigation experience with at least three years supervisory; and ICC Fire Inspector Level I and II certification at time of hire. This is an exempt position offering an annual salary range of $113,006-$163,820 DOQ, with a comprehensive benefits package including ASRS pension, medical/dental/vision, a city-provided work vehicle, and tuition reimbursement.
