Job Description

This position will primarily telecommute but may be occasionally required to conduct field inspections and report to a central or regional office. Responsibilities You will serve as a non-uniformed Deputy State Fire Marshal and perform engineering evaluations and analysis. You will review for approval, architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes, laws, and regulations. You will assist architects, engineers, government officials, and the public with code interpretations and enforcement duties. You will arrange and conduct conferences with government officials, design professionals, contractors, and owners to resolve code compliance problems. You may conduct or assist with field inspections related to the approval of plans and monitor projects during construction through field inspections. You will provide occasional training and review of work performed to assist with work quality, accuracy, and efficiency. You will provide technical assistance to other sections of the Office of State Fire Marshal and perform other duties, as needed or assigned, in support of State Fire's mission.
