Starting Pay :

Rates are based on a 2,704-hour annual work schedule.

Fire Recruit:

$18.74 per hour

Firefighter:

$20.67 per hour

Firefighter-Paramedic:

$22.78 per hour

Experienced Certified Firefighters:

Experience-based pay placement available Firefighter Selection Process Applications will be reviewed to confirm that minimum qualifications have been met. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in: A written examination administered by the City of Alabaster Human Resources Department A physical abilities test administered by the Alabaster Fire Department A panel interview with representatives of the Alabaster Fire Department and Human Resources Candidates must successfully complete each required phase to advance in the selection process.
