Job Description
Job Summary 2 Part time paid firefighter reserve positions are now available (6-10) 24 hour shifts per month paid flat rate $250 -$300 stipend per shift clean driving record required, Hiring interviews will start as of 8/26/2026 must have current firefighter 1 or fire acadamy / EMT certs and clean background. must be able to work in busy 911 station , follow orders and be able to advance into D/O position. Must be able to work with emergency medical and trauma victims along with wildland and structure fire incidents Fire apprenticeship program is available for those in a current fire academy with a valid county EMT allowing on the job paid training. pay is D.O.E and acadamy status Positions available are in San Diego County and Riverside county Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls involving fires, medical incidents, hazardous materials, and rescue operations. Operate fire suppression equipment and fire apparatus safely and efficiently during emergency responses Administer first aid, CPR, and basic life support to stabilize patients until advanced medical care arrives. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to ensure safety during hazardous conditions. Follow incident command protocols to coordinate response efforts effectively and communicate with team members and external agencies. Manage hazardous materials incidents by implementing HAZMAT protocols to contain and mitigate environmental threats. Requirements Valid certification as a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), with experience in emergency medicine preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA standards related to firefighting, rescue operations, and hazardous materials response. Proficiency in operating firefighting specialized equipment, fire apparatus, and firefighting vehicles. Experience with fire safety procedures, environmental protection during hazardous materials incidents, and incident command systems. Ability to perform heavy lifting, operate rescue tools, and conduct vital signs assessment under pressure. Valid driver's license with commercial driving endorsement preferred; ability to operate fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. Strong commitment to safety protocols including respiratory protection use, confined space rescue operations, and PPE compliance. Join us in making a difference through dedicated service!
