We are seeking motivated, dependable individuals committed to serving the community through emergency response, training, and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications 1. Be at least 21 years of age 2. Must possess, and subsequently maintain, a valid Illinois driver's license 3. Be a United States citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States 4. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED). 5. Successfully pass a criminal background investigation 6. Successfully pass a medical evaluation (NFPA 1582 compliant) 7. Successfully pass a physical ability/agility assessment 8. Basic Operations Firefighter certification or Firefighter II certification with the ability to obtain Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal Basic Operations Firefighter certification within 6 months of hire 9. Three or more years of experience in a public, private, or federal fire department 10. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire Preferred Qualifications 1. Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal Fire Service Vehicle Operator 2. Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal Hazardous Materials Operations 3. Illinois Department of Public Health EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic certification 4. Availability to routinely work 12-hour day/night shifts Compensation and Benefits The rate of pay for this position starts at $16.00 per hour; rate commensurate with certifications.
