Job Description
The Cumberland Fire Department is currently accepting applications for pre-employment testing for the position of Firefighter/EMT-Basic to be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Candidates must arrive by 5:45 p.m. the evening of the test. The testing site will be at the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, 13928 HazMat Drive SW, Cumberland, MD 21502. Candidates interested in participating in the testing process must submit an employment application by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Applications along with detailed information about the pre-employment testing procedures can be obtained from the Cumberland Fire Department, 20 Bedford Street, Cumberland, Maryland 21502, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Applications can also be submitted through the City's website at ci.cumberland.md.us or Indeed.com.
