Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
File managers work alongside case managers and attorneys to ensure fully developed files and exceptional service for our clients. Regular attention to daily task list with a keen eye towards upcoming hearings and deadlines is critical. File Manager's prepare, submit, follow-up on, and log medical records and other requests. Phone call coverage and routing calls to the team, case manager, or attorney, may also be required. This position requires great attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills. Communication with clients, medical facilities, and other government entities as needed to ensure a complete file. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, BCBS benefits, PTO, and an opportunity to work hybrid in office and remotely.RESONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES
Order medical records and follow-up on record requests. Downloading E-folders and updating the file with any missing documents, while setting next steps for case managers Following up with the VA regarding attorney fees and VA fee letters that have not been received. Create and send medical costs invoices and notification letters to clients when attorney fee was failed to be withheld, and follow up monthly for payment. Take payments from clients for medical costs invoices or attorney fees that were not withheld and document all payments in the clients file. Scan and log confidential documents and mail from the VA in the appropriate client files and set tasks as needed. Open all External Leads and create opening documents. Communicate with medical facilities and other agencies, and issue payments as needed for records based on our requests. Prepare medical records and documents for submission. Send documents to clients through DocuSign, email and/or the mail and follow up as needed. Schedule doctor appointments and send all required documents for the appointment. Contact clients for doctor appointment reminders. Provide phone coverage and call routing, as well as other administrative tasks as needed. Maintain department goals and keep task list up-to-date.KEY SKILLS
Empathy and patience Organized with attention to detail Problem-Solving and Collaborative excellent research skills Medical knowledge and/or medical records experience Willing to be a team player and assist others with tasks when needed Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer software Qualifications Ability to commute to the Troy office 3 days a week after training (2-3 weeks for 5 days/week in office) Understanding of the VA claims & appeals process Ability to prosper in fast-paced environments Ability to be on the phone for extended periods of time Associates or Bachelor's degree in related fields Pay $19-$21/hrSimilar jobs in Troy, MI
