We are searching for someone who is punctual, organized, responsible, takes pride in their work, and has a professional demeanor. Must be able to multi-task and think critically. This position is full time and located in our Sacramento office. This an entry to mid level position. Nelson and Kennard is not looking for remote employees.
Duties:
In this position, the applicant will perform a wide range of tasks, including managing the case calendar, reviewing and producing discovery documents, trial preparation, motions, preparing CMC statements, preparing order to show cause declarations, coordinating, editing and communicating with firm attorneys, and various other duties. Candidate should have experience working in fast-paced environments, be detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. Legal experience is a plus but is not required- we are willing to train the right candidate.Qualifications and Requirements :
- Excellent judgment and discretion
- Fast learner
- Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently
- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; demonstrated understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Strong proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite of software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Graduation from high school or GED; college or business school is a plus
- Ability to work and think independently
- Previous Legal experience is a plus
- Knowledge of legal formats, procedures and terminology is a plus Why Nelson & Kennard?
