Professional Spanish required About Union Law Group Union Law Group is seeking a bilingual Immigration Law Clerk to support attorneys handling removal-defense and other immigration matters. This position is ideal for a law-school graduate, recent graduate, bar candidate, or legally trained professional interested in developing practical experience in immigration litigation and court-related case preparation. Position Summary The Immigration Law Clerk will assist attorneys with legal research, drafting, evidence organization, case preparation, and immigration-court filings. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with removal-defense cases, EOIR proceedings, immigration clinics, or litigation matters. This is a non-attorney position. The Law Clerk will work under attorney supervision and may not independently provide legal advice or represent clients unless legally authorized to do so. Key Responsibilities Conduct legal research involving immigration statutes, regulations, case law, and agency guidance. Draft motions, briefs, declarations, legal memoranda, exhibit lists, and supporting documents under attorney supervision. Assist with asylum, cancellation of removal, bond, adjustment, waiver, and motion-to-reopen cases. Review Notices to Appear, court records, criminal documents, immigration history, and prior filings. Organize evidence and prepare exhibit packets for EOIR hearings. Assist attorneys with hearing preparation, case timelines, witness materials, and case summaries. Communicate with Spanish-speaking clients to collect information and documents under attorney direction. Prepare written summaries of client interviews, case histories, and legal records. Monitor court deadlines and assist with timely filings. Maintain organized electronic records and detailed case notes. Support attorneys before and after master calendar and individual merits hearings. Required Qualifications Juris Doctor degree, foreign law degree, or current enrollment in an accredited law-school program. Professional proficiency in English and Spanish. Strong legal research, writing, organization, and analytical skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive client information. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines. Ability to work full-time and in person at our Barrio Logan office. Understanding that this position does not permit independent legal advice or representation unless legally authorized. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in immigration law, removal defense, or litigation. Experience with EOIR filings or immigration-court procedures. Participation in an immigration clinic, internship, externship, or law-firm position. Familiarity with asylum, cancellation of removal, bond proceedings, waivers, or motions to reopen. Experience drafting legal motions, briefs, or research memoranda. Current or planned application to a U.S. state bar. Compensation and Benefits Compensation of $28
•33 per hour, depending on education and relevant experience. Approximate annual equivalent of $58,240
