Votre & Associates, P.C. seeks a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Law Clerk to assist with litigation, discovery, and general legal support matters in active cases. This position is ideal for a second or third-year law student, paralegal, or individual with prior litigation support experience seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced law office. The Legal Assistant / Law Clerk will work closely with counsel and assist with discovery-related matters, legal drafting, office administration, file management, and litigation support. This position offers a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to work remotely, subject to office needs.
Responsibilities:
Organizing, maintaining, and managing electronic and physical case files; Reviewing, organizing, and summarizing documents and records; Assisting with discovery responses and document productions; Preparing exhibits, binders, hearing materials, and court filings; Typing, formatting, proofreading, and revising legal documents and correspondence; E-filing documents in state and federal court systems; Tracking billable and non-billable time entries; Managing deadlines, calendars, and litigation schedules; Maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and case management systems; Assisting with document collection, scanning, indexing, Bates labeling, and electronic file organization; Assisting attorneys during trial preparation, depositions, mediations, and hearings; Coordinating service of process, subpoenas, and document requests; Monitoring incoming mail, emails, and court notices; and Performing additional legal assistant, clerical, and litigation support duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Paralegal training and/or prior legal assistant experience preferred;
Preferred:
Second or third-year law student currently enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school; Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills; Strong typing, proofreading, and computer skills; Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Office Suite; Understanding of or prior experience with litigation and discovery procedures preferred; Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality; Professional demeanor, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Position Details:
Part-Time Position; Flexible work schedule; Remote work available, subject to office needs; Opportunity for substantial hands-on litigation and discovery experience in an active law practice.
