Job Description
Law Clerk (Paid) - Rising 2L or 3L Located Northwest of Houston in the Magnolia/Plantersville/Conroe area. Akiens Law Firm PLLC is seeking a rising 2L or 3L law student to join our team as a paid Law Clerk. This position offers hands-on legal experience working directly with attorneys in estate planning, probate, business law, and asset protection. This is is an excellent opportunity for a law student looking to gain meaningful practical experience while developing drafting, research, and client-facing skills in a collaborative law firm environment with generous opportunities for advancement and professional growth. Responsibilities Draft wills, trusts, probate pleadings, business formation documents, and other legal documents. Conduct legal research related to probate, estate planning, trusts, taxation, business entities, and asset protection. Assist with probate and estate administration from initial client intake through case completion. Meet with prospective and existing clients under attorney supervision and utilize professional client communication. Prepare correspondence, organize case files, and maintain accurate legal records. Assist with the formation and maintenance of LLCs, corporations, and other business entities. Support attorneys in developing customized estate plans and asset protection strategies. Handle confidential client and financial information with professionalism and discretion. Perform additional legal and administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications Rising 2L or 3L at an ABA-accredited law school. Professional demeanor and strong work ethic. Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and staff. This position has the potential to transition into an Associate Attorney role upon successful law school graduation, passage of the Texas Bar Exam, and demonstrated performance with the firm.
