Job Description
Note:
The first review of applications will be September 8, 2026. Salary Information This is a BART Police Management Association (BPMA) represented position.Salary:
$13,894 (Step 1) to $16,122 (Step 4) / monthlyPlease Note:
External candidates will be hired at Step 1 of the salary range. Starting salary placement is non-negotiable. Who May Apply All current BART employees and qualified individuals who are not yet BART employees. Reports To Police Chief or designee Days Off As assigned. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Department BART Police Department is a progressive agency and has been on the forefront- and in some cases the model approach to training in the areas of fair and impartial policing, bias-based policing, crisis intervention, cultural competence training, and de-escalation training.
- Knowledge of law enforcement accreditation processes and the ability to interpret and apply CALEA standards to maintain compliance. Strategic and Analytical Thinking
- Ability to identify complex operational and compliance issues, evaluate solutions, and provide sound recommendations. Program and Project Management
- Ability to manage complex, deadline-driven projects involving multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deliverables. Policy Development and Organizational Improvement
- Experience developing and implementing policies and translating standards into effective organizational practices. Communication and Influence
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex information. Collaboration and Relationship Management
- Ability to build effective working relationships with executive leadership, sworn and civilian personnel, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualification Screening Note:
Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee advancement, as additional screening criteria may be applied to identify the most ideal candidates.
