CCSO is looking for strong candidates with an excellent work history who aspire to become a deputy sheriff with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office. Candidates are encouraged to apply for a limited number of paid sponsorships to the law enforcement academy at Withlacoochee Technical College (WTC). Successful candidates will be under contract with CCSO for a total of three years from their hire date. Successful candidates are eligible for the Florida State $5,000 recruitment bonus for new or out-of-state Law Enforcement officers.

STARTING PAY RATE

$24.04/HR ($50,003.20 ANNUALLY) Pass a Competency Assessment Test and Physical Abilities Test prior to the start of the academy Pass the WTC required CJBAT test to qualify for police academy admission Pass WTC's Academy program Pass the Florida State Officer Certification Exam Perform various administrative duties, training exercises and observation events when not engaged in academy courses Be regular, dependable, prepared, and punctual to all classes and assignments Be appropriately dressed and groomed Act in a professional manner demonstrating helpful and courteous behavior Be available to immediately start, complete, and successfully pass all portions of our agency background process prior to the start of the academy Commute to and from the academy daily according to the class schedule All CCSO employees are considered essential emergency workers and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations, including but not limited to, in-County and out-of-County deployments
