Currently, we are seeking dependable, self-motivated individuals to work as a Deputy Sheriff, Civil Process, Civil Process positions (starting salary $18.52 hourly) process and serve legal documents within assigned geographic areas. We are currently accepting applications to establish an eligible list to fill current and future vacancies. Applications are valid for six months after the date of submission. If you are not notified within six months, you will need to reapply.
EXAMPLES OF DEPUTY SHERIFF DUTIES
Receives, processes, and documents proper service of legal papers as prescribed by law, using a personal vehicle, to residents and businesses. Performs administrative duties in the office regarding civil process and execution. Serve as bailiff on an as-needed basis to maintain order and to ensure the courts run smoothly. Successfully complete in service trainings. Exercises appropriate judgement in the use of personal protection items. Carries personal protection items in an approved manner. Perform such additional duties as required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
: Use of personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided). Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must possess and maintain a department approved personal handgun in good working condition. Must maintain qualifying standards with a handgun within 6 months of hire. May be required to possess and maintain a department issued TASER in good working condition.
