Campus Police Lieutenant, Watch Commander (Sworn)

High Point University is seeking a Police Lieutenant, Watch Commander. Under the direction of the Chief of Campus Police, the Watch Commander will be in a sworn position and will hold the rank of Lieutenant. The Police Lieutenant, Watch Commander, provides support services across all divisions within the agency. This position will serve as one of our Watch Commanders providing supervisory guidance and oversight during evening/nighttime hours. This position will also be tasked with direct supervision of a Patrol Team. The Police Lieutenant, Watch Commander will at times be assigned as an Incident Commander over special events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates with all principal parties which may include resources from the High Point Police Department or other law enforcement agencies as deemed necessary to accomplish the mission Ensure logistical operational needs are addressed Direct supervision of a Patrol Squad Flexibility to work designated assigned events as the Incident Commander Serve as one of the nighttime Watch Commanders providing supervisory guidance and oversight to on duty personnel Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Campus Police or their designee Field Training Coordinator supervising our sworn field training program. The Police Lieutenant/Watch Commander, must maintain NC police certification by completing all in-service training including firearms qualifications. This position requires the wearing of the HPU campus police uniform.
