82 per hour starting pay as a recruit $27.37 per hour after completion of APOST academy Join our team of professionals and serve alongside one of Alabama's best law enforcement agencies. The Alabaster Police Department is seeking elite candidates with a strong desire to protect and serve the community!

18.2026 at 8:00 am - APD building located at 100 11th Ave Southwest, Alabaster 35007 to include a Written Test (all candidates regardless of education background) takes a basic written test and must make a 70 or higher to progress to the Physical Agility Test on the same day. Closed toed shoes required. APOST adopted the Basic Abilities Test (Work Keys Assessment) for all candidates that do not hold an associate degree or higher . Non-Certified candidates that do not hold an associate degree or higher degree, must register at: Jeffstate.edu to sit for the work keys assessment prior to an offer of a position.
