School Safety Officer Recruit Duval County Public Schools - 3.4 Jacksonville, FL Job Details Full-time $20.40 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Physical conditioning Full Job Description Essential Functions Depending upon the specific functional responsibilities, incumbents may perform some or all of the functions in the section below. Percentage of time spent performing essential functions may vary across positions. Percent of Job Attend and successfully complete all required courses at the Basic Law Enforcement Academy. 20% Participate in physical training sessions designed to enhance fitness, agility, and overall preparedness for law enforcement duties. 20% Develop a comprehensive understanding of police procedures, laws, and regulations. 20% Engage in practical exercises and simulations to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of law enforcement. 20% Complete written exams, practical assessments, and physical fitness tests to demonstrate proficiency and readiness for field duties. 20% Performs other duties as assigned.
Probation:
One (1) year
Qualifications Open Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum Age 21 years. (Individuals will be considered who have not?reached 21 years of age but will by the time of swearing in as a law enforcement officer). Applicant must be a United States Citizen.?Character and overall physical condition must be suitable for law enforcement work and candidates must pass the department's background investigation. Ability to meet physical fitness requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to serving the school district, community, and upholding the law.

N/A Licensing/Certification/Registration:
A valid Florida Driver's License is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills Ability to acquire knowledge of School Board policies Ability to read, write, speak and understand standard English. Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively Ability to physically withstand long hours of standing and/or walking
