Experienced Police Officers with the City of Champaign protect life and property through the enforcement of Illinois law and City ordinances while working closely with residents, fellow officers, and partner agencies. What You'll Do Patrol neighborhoods, streets, businesses, and other areas throughout Champaign Respond to calls for service and assist with community problem-solving Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and prepare reports Assist fellow officers and outside agencies Perform special details and assigned duties Prepare cases for court and testify when required Maintain accurate documentation and professional standards Applications are reviewed weekly. Testing and interviews are scheduled based on departmental needs.

Minimum Qualifications Applicants must:

Be a post-probationary police officer in the United States Be in good standing with current and/or previous law enforcement departments Possess skills and abilities substantially equivalent to a Champaign post-probationary officer , as determined by the Chief of Police Benefits & Incentives This position is covered by the FOP bargaining agreement and offers a competitive benefits package, including:
