Up to $48.00/hour, dependent on qualifications
Benefits:
This position is eligible for 8 hours per calendar year of West Dundee Paid Leave and access to a voluntary deferred compensation 457 plan for additional retirement savings.
Schedule:
The officer will generally work four consecutive hours every scheduled school day, with the specific schedule coordinated between the Police Department and School administration. This is a part-time, FLSA non-exempt position.

Position Details The Village of West Dundee Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for a Part-Time School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned primarily to St. Catherine of Siena School.
This position provides a consistent, visible law-enforcement presence while supporting a safe and secure learning environment and fostering positive relationships among students, staff, families, and law enforcement.
This position is well suited for an experienced law-enforcement professional seeking a meaningful part-time opportunity focused on school safety, community engagement, and positive interaction with students and families.
Primary responsibilities include:
maintaining a visible presence on school grounds
assisting with school safety and security
responding to emergencies and law-enforcement-related matters
supporting arrival, dismissal, and other school activities
working collaboratively with school administrators on safety concerns
The SRO remains an employee of the Village of West Dundee and operates under the supervision and chain of command of the West Dundee Police Department.
Qualifications:
- All applicants must meet the applicable qualifications for employment as a Village of West Dundee part-time police officer, including:
- Be a certified police officer in the State of Illinois.
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
The selected finalist must have the ability to successfully pass a required background investigation, review of past and current performance evaluations, polygraph, psychological, and medical exams, as well as drug screening.
