EASTHAMPTON
Police Officer The Easthampton Police Department is looking for a dedicated and community-focused individual to fill one (1) permanent full-time Police Officer position. The ideal candidate will be committed to serving the Easthampton community by enforcing laws, maintaining public safety, and responding to emergencies with professionalism and integrity
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrate strong motivation and the ability to perform duties related to protecting persons and property, suppression and prevention of crime, and all other duties related to this position. Work effectively under the supervision of a superior officer while also being able to make independent decisions based on prescribed standards, and have the flexibility to adapt to various situations encountered in the line of duty. Be able to understand and apply provisions of various Massachusetts General Laws and City Ordinances, and document findings in clear and concise written reports. Work effectively and professionally with the general public while providing quality public services. Maintain physical readiness, with the ability to perform moderate to strenuous physical tasks as required. All other related work as required or the situation dictates.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Massachusetts Police Academy Certification for Reserve/Intermittent Police Officers, MPTC Bridge Academy, MPTC Academy, or equivalent preferred Completion of the Easthampton Police Department Field Training Program within one year of hire Meet the standards set forth by the Massachusetts Human Resources Division for Physical Abilities Testing (PAT) Must be able to obtain a POST Commission Certification upon completion of an Academy after hire. Valid Massachusetts Driver?s License Valid Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in the Criminal Justice field, preferred Must reside within 10 miles of Easthampton
