The Kennebunkport Police Department is looking for motivated, community-minded people interested in starting a career in law enforcement. You don't need to be a certified police officer to apply. We are looking for people with good judgment, integrity, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in serving others. Your previous career does not have to be in law enforcement. Experience in the military, EMS, corrections, public service, education, customer service, the trades, athletics, or other fields may provide exactly the skills we are looking for. What Kennebunkport Offers Starting pay up to $39.77/hour upon qualification as a Police Officer Four 10-hour shifts — three days off each week 20-year/no-age MainePERS retirement $2.00 - $4.00/hour evening/night-shift differential Excellent health insurance — Town pays 85% of premiums Town-funded HRA covering the employee deductible and maximum out-of-pocket expense Paid training and professional development Opportunities for overtime and special-event assignments A career serving an engaged and supportive community We Will Help You Get There Selected candidates who are not yet certified will be guided through the requirements necessary to become a Maine law-enforcement officer, including the Maine Criminal Justice Academy process.
