We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Armed School Resource Officer to serve as a vital safety presence within our educational environment for a local private Christian School. This role combines law enforcement expertise with a commitment to fostering a secure, respectful, and positive school climate. The Armed School Resource Officer will patrol campus grounds, respond to incidents, and build strong relationships with students, staff, and the community. Equipped with law enforcement training and a proactive approach, you will ensure the safety of all individuals on campus while promoting a culture of security and trust. The applicant must be a currently sworn North Carolina Law Enforcement Officer or HR 218 Qualified (LEOSA). Duties Patrol school premises regularly to deter unlawful activity and maintain order across campus grounds. Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, threats, or disturbances, utilizing first aid and CPR skills as needed. Conduct investigations into criminal activity or behavioral issues, gathering evidence in accordance with evidence law and criminal procedure. Enforce traffic laws within school zones, manage vehicle flow, and oversee parking areas to ensure safety for students and staff. Provide leadership in conflict management situations, de-escalating tensions through procedural law knowledge and use of force training. Write detailed reports documenting incidents, investigations, arrests, or other significant activities following proper report writing standards. Collaborate with school administrators on safety protocols, conduct surveillance activities using CCTV systems, and implement loss prevention strategies. Handle animals on campus responsibly when necessary, ensuring safety for all parties involved. Maintain proficiency in firearms handling in law enforcement contexts and standard passenger car operation for patrol duties. Stay current on local ordinances, criminal law updates, search and seizure law, immigration law as applicable to school settings, and procedural law to ensure compliance during enforcement activities. Experience HR 218 qualified (LEOSA) or currently sworn NC Law Enforcement Officer required. Proven experience in law enforcement or military service with a strong background in criminal investigation, arrest procedures, and criminal law. Demonstrated ability to operate patrol vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and driving protocols. Training or certification in first aid protocols, CPR, use of force procedures, search and seizure law, and evidence collection techniques. Experience managing conflicts effectively through conflict management strategies and use of force training. Familiarity with security operations within an educational environment or similar setting is preferred. Ability to handle animals responsibly when required for campus safety or animal care situations. Strong report writing skills with attention to detail; ability to document incidents clearly and accurately.
