  • (26004544) Job Summary Gains the necessary skills to successfully graduate from the Police Academy and attain MPOETC certification.
Accompanies police officers in conducting patrols, enforcing laws, and responding to calls. Develops and enhances skills and understanding of laws, policies, and procedures. Recruits potential candidates, provides program information, and attends promotional events. Essential Functions Develop skills in law enforcement. Accompany officers in conducting foot and vehicular patrols of a university campus. Build strong relationships in a multi-cultural environment. Grow a comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal laws. Gain skills in police reporting, investigation, and court testimony Physical Effort Ability to communicate over phone/radio. Provide security protection for the campus community. Requires prolonged periods of walking, standing and sitting. Ability to operate a motor vehicle, all-terrain vehicle and successfully pass any required firearms qualification required by the department.

  • Final appointment is contingent upon admission to the Act 120 Police Academy at IUP.
Failing to graduate from the Academy or attaining MPOETC certification within 30 days because of conduct, ethics, or policy violations will result in termination
