Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated law enforcement team as a Police Officer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and serving the community with integrity and professionalism. This dynamic position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through proactive policing, criminal investigations, and community engagement. As a Police Officer, you will utilize your skills in law enforcement procedures, emergency response, and conflict management to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors. Your commitment to excellence will help foster a secure environment for everyone. Duties Enforce traffic laws, local ordinances, criminal laws, and procedural law to uphold public safety and order. Conduct patrols using standard passenger cars, surveillance equipment, and other law enforcement tools to monitor neighborhoods, public events, and crime hotspots. Respond promptly to emergency calls, accidents, disturbances, and incidents requiring first aid or CPR assistance May be needed. Investigate crimes by gathering evidence, conducting criminal investigations, writing detailed reports, and executing search and seizure procedures in accordance with evidence law. Make arrests following proper arrest procedures while ensuring the safety of all parties involved. Manage conflict situations through effective conflict management techniques and use of force training when necessary. Engage in community outreach efforts to build trust and promote crime prevention initiatives. Handle animals appropriately during investigations or community interactions; possess knowledge of animal handling and care when relevant. Maintain physical conditioning through regular fitness routines to meet the demands of law enforcement duties. Stay current on laws related to immigration, loss prevention, firearms handling in law enforcement contexts, and other relevant legal frameworks. Experience No experience is necessary but Prior experience in law enforcement or criminal investigation is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in report writing with clear documentation of incidents and investigations. Knowledge of traffic laws, firearms handling protocols for law enforcement use, procedural law, criminal procedure, and evidence law. Background in military service or security roles that involved surveillance, first aid protocols, or conflict management is advantageous. Ability to operate a vehicle safely under various conditions while adhering to traffic laws and pursuit policies and must have a valid South Carolina drivers License Physical conditioning that meets the standards required for active duty police work. Experience with search and seizure law, local ordinances, immigration law (if applicable), and loss prevention strategies enhances readiness for this role.
