POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT - NON-CERTIFIED APPLICANT

Starting Salary:

$53,423 with a $2,500 sign-on bonus. $500 will be paid at the time of hire, $1,000 after completion of the SCCJA/Class I Law Enforcement Officer certification, and $1,000 will be paid six months after the graduation date from SCCJA. This applies to applicants in training to become a South Carolina Certified Officer. •Non-certified applicants with an associate degree or military or public safety experience will receive a 1.5% bonus to the base starting salary: $54,224. Salary for non-certified applicant after 6-months is $55,203. Salary for non-certified applicant after 1-year is $58,171. • Listed salary does not include the $2,500 sign-on bonus benefit.

POLICE OFFICER - CERTIFIED APPLICANT

Starting Salary:

$55,025 with a $3,000 sign-on bonus. $500 will be paid at the time of hire, and $2,500 will be paid six months after completion of 6-month probationary period. •This applies to applicants who are certified law enforcement officers, have a bachelor's degree, or are fluent in a foreign language. They will receive a 3% bonus to the base starting salary. Salary for a certified applicants after 6-months is $56,538. Salary for a certified applicants after 1-year is $59,061. • Listed salary does not include the $3,000 sign-on bonus benefit.

MID-POINT SALARY

After three years of service at the agency, the base salary will be $64,107. The Town of Lexington is an EOE/AA employer.
