Job Description

POLICE OFFICER
The West Bend Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Eligible candidates must be at least 20 years old, have excellent character, a valid driver's license, a minimum of 60 college credits, and must be able to perform the essential functions of a law enforcement officer. Lateral transfer starting salary and vacation time adjustments are available for candidates with prior full time sworn officer experience. The State Reciprocity Exam is available for certification of out of state sworn officers. Department Recruit School sponsorship for non-certified candidates is available. Tuition reimbursement for certifiable candidates who self-funded Recruit School is available upon successful completion of the probationary period. The current labor agreement salary range for 2026 is $74,713 - $96,003 plus benefits. Candidates selected to participate in the hiring process will complete an initial online testing process to determine eligibility. Additional selection criteria will include scenario assessments, oral interview, background check, psychological and medical exams, the State Physical Readiness Test, and a drug screen.
