Job Description

This position is to be officed in El Dorado or Texarkana , or such other location in south Arkansas, as determined by the Pro Bono Director and Executive Director. This position has the following minimum requirements: 1. Juris Doctor degree and either licensed to practice law in Arkansas or awaiting bar results and/or licensure by petition. 2. Experience with common business systems. 3. The ability and willingness to office, work, and travel in southern Arkansas to fulfill the duties of the position. 4. Strong interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills. 5. The willingness and ability to communicate with potential volunteers in person. 6. The ability and willingness to work with others within Legal Aid of Arkansas on projects and outreach, such as legal clinics, CLE presentations, community education presentation, etc. The duties of a Pro Bono Facilitator are as follows: 1. Recruit pro bono volunteer attorneys within an assigned coverage area by attending bar association meetings, conducting CLE presentations, making direct contact with attorneys and firms, and other activities intended to recruit private attorneys to join Legal Aid's pro bono panel. 2. Attend outreach, such as legal clinics, community education events, and other activities intended and designed to incorporate private attorneys and law students into the delivery of legal assistance to Legal Aid's target client population. 3. Assist Pro Bono Coordinators in locating volunteers for active cases and outreach. 4. Manage such caseload as determined by the Pro Bono Director. 5. Any such other duties and functions as may be assigned by the Pro Bono Director. Other matters related to the position are as follows: Compensation will be pursuant to Legal Aid of Arkansas's Staff Attorney pay scale based on experience and skill level.
