We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to represent clients injured in accidents and incidents throughout California. The attorney will manage cases from intake through resolution handling investigation, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiation, and trial preparation to secure maximum compensation for clients. This role is litigation-focused and ideal for a driven lawyer with 37 years of personal injury experience who is admitted to practice in California. Key Responsibilities Evaluate new matters, conduct client intake, and develop case strategies tailored to each clients injuries and goals.
Investigate accidents and injuries (including motor vehicle collisions, slip & fall and premises liability claims), retain experts, and assemble medical and evidentiary records.
Manage all aspects of discovery: prepare and respond to written discovery, coordinate document productions, and take and defend depositions.
Draft pleadings, motions, settlement demands, mediation briefs, and trial exhibits; represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, expert coordination, exhibit organization, and courtroom presentation.
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers to obtain fair and timely resolutions for clients.
Maintain regular, transparent communication with clients regarding case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
Maintain strict calendaring and docket control to meet filing deadlines and court requirements.
Collaborate with partners, colleagues, paralegals, and outside vendors; supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff as needed.
Contribute to business development and client retention efforts, including client referrals, community outreach, and relationship-building within the legal and medical communities.
Ensure compliance with ethical and professional responsibilities, firm policies, and applicable California regulations. Qualifications Licensed to practice law in California (admitted to the California State Bar) and in good standing.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
3+ years of substantive personal injury litigation experience at a law firm or law office handling accidents, injury claims, and related litigation.
Proven courtroom and trial experience, or demonstrable readiness to try cases to verdict.
Strong experience with discovery practice, motion drafting, depositions, and evidentiary preparation.
Deep familiarity with common personal injury matters including motor vehicle accidents, slip & fall, premises liability, and other accident-related claims.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate with insurance carriers and opposing counsel to reach favorable settlements.
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, client counseling skills, and the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly.
Comfortable working in a collaborative law firm environment with a focus on litigation; partner-track candidates encouraged to apply.
Proficiency with case management and document software; strong organizational skills and attention to ethical and procedural detail.
