PARRIS Law Firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join our Insurance Bad Faith team. This position offers the opportunity to represent policyholders against insurance companies that have wrongfully denied, delayed, or underpaid valid claims. The ideal candidate will have exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. They must also be an analytical thinker and collaborative team member who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure litigation environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions in state and federal court Analyze insurance policies, claims files, and adjuster conduct to identify bad faith exposure Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, underwriters, and expert witnesses Participate in hearings, mediations, and trial preparation Collaborate with partners, associates, experts, and support staff Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel
Applicant Requirements:
2-10 years of experience in insurance coverage or bad faith litigation Active license and in good standing with the State Bar of California Strong working knowledge of California insurance law and related regulatory framework Familiarity with federal procedural rules (FRCP) as well as California Code of Civil Procedure Experience in third party or first party claims and coverage analysis Effective time-management and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-based practice
