This position will work closely with management, internal departments, headquarters, and outside counsel to support matters involving commercial loans, collections, litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, OREO, corporate governance, and other legal and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple legal matters in a fast-paced financial services environment.
Compensation:
$120,000 - $130,000
Responsibilities:
Manage and support legal matters involving collections, litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and other loan enforcement activities. Coordinate with and oversee outside counsel on legal matters, including case strategy, status, fees, and required approvals. Review and prepare legal documents related to commercial loans, loan modifications, workouts, closings, and other lending transactions. Provide legal guidance on loan documentation, collateral, title, UCC filings, and other lending-related matters. Support OREO matters, including foreclosure transitions, property management issues, title matters, and property dispositions. Review legal matters related to new lending products and venture debt transactions. Handle corporate governance matters, including resolutions, corporate records, board/HQ documentation, and Corporate Secretary functions, as applicable. Prepare and maintain legal reports, case updates, and other required documentation. Work closely with Credit, Operations, management, headquarters, and outside counsel on legal and business matters. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree required. Prior experience in a legal, commercial lending, banking, or financial services environment required. Knowledge of commercial lending, loan documentation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, litigation, collections, and/or OREO matters required. Experience in reviewing, drafting, and analyzing legal documents and agreements. Strong understanding of legal terminology, processes, and risk considerations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple legal matters and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate with management, internal departments, headquarters, and outside counsel.
