The firm's work includes contracts and business disputes, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and construction and development claims. Ventura Hersey Muller also handles labor and employment cases, providing comprehensive counsel to employers and employees. Team members collaborate on high-impact matters that require strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and client-focused service. Role Description The Associate Attorney will handle a variety of matters involving business disputes, real estate transactions, construction and development claims, and labor and employment cases. Day-to-day responsibilities include legal research and analysis, drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other transactional documents, and providing clear, practical legal advice to clients. The role involves negotiating settlements and agreements, attending court hearings, depositions, and mediations, and supporting senior attorneys in case strategy and trial preparation. The Associate Attorney will also communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to advance case objectives and maintain strong professional relationships. This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law with the ability to handle complex civil matters across business, real estate, and construction disputes. Experience or coursework in Labor and Employment Law, including counseling and litigation support for workplace-related issues. Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients, including risk assessment and strategic recommendations. Advanced Research skills for case law, statutes, regulations, and fact development to support motions, briefs, and transactional work. Effective Negotiation skills for settlements, contracts, and dispute resolution involving multiple stakeholders. Active membership in the California State Bar (or eligibility for admission in the near term). Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong drafting, advocacy, and client communication abilities. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Prior law firm experience in litigation or transactional work is preferred; experience in business, real estate, or employment matters is a plus. Commitment to professional ethics, collaboration, and providing high-quality service to a diverse client base.
