Job Description

Haight, Brown & Bonesteel LLP, a well-established civil defense litigation firm with offices throughout California, seeks an attorney to add to the team in our Workers' Compensation practice group. This position can be in either our Walnut Creek office or our other offices in Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles or Sacramento.
Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation including taking depositions and making appearances at the WCAB Assume responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity Communicate effectively with clients Develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as liens Draft pleadings and reports Depose applicants and physicians
Qualifications:
Experience in WC on either the defense or applicant side Familiarity with the WCAB procedures and the California Workers' Compensation laws Active California Bar License Experience defending S&W, 132a and/or subrogation claims a plus Annual base salary: $155,000 to $195,000, set by demonstrated ability and level of responsibility rather than tenure, plus a $20,000 annual bonus for attorneys who exceed the firm's quarterly billable hour requirements.
