Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of family law and will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in various legal processes. This position requires excellent organizational skills and proficiency in legal drafting. The Family Law Paralegal will be instrumental in managing case files, preparing documents, and ensuring that all legal procedures are followed accurately. Responsibilities Assist attorneys in the preparation of family law cases, including divorce and paternity. Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Gather and organize discovery documents. Review bank statements, tax returns, pay stubs, and other financial documents for discovery and trial preparation. Review and manage documents using document management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain organized case files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference. Utilize tools such as Westlaw for legal drafting and information gathering. Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for their cases. Track deadlines related to disclosures, discovery responses, and court filings. Requirements Proven experience as a family law paralegal is required. Proficiency in legal drafting and document review. Experience with legal research tools like Westlaw is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high-quality work standards. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
