Full Job Description Family Law Forensic CPA Position:
Family Law Forensic CPA / Forensic Accountant We are seeking a licensed CPA with strong accounting, analytical, and financial skills to join our team as a Family Law Forensic CPA. This position is ideal for a CPA who enjoys financial analysis, problem-solving, business valuation, and working with complex financial information in the context of family law litigation. Family law experience is a plus, but not required. Tax and business valuation experience are also highly desirable. We are willing to train the right candidate in the family law forensic accounting aspects of the position. Responsibilities Perform financial analysis and forensic accounting in family law matters Analyze personal and business financial records, tax returns, bank and investment statements, and other financial documents Analyze income, assets, liabilities, cash flow, and business interests Assist with business valuations and valuation analyses Analyze financial information used in determining the value of closely held businesses Prepare financial schedules, calculations, valuation analyses, and supporting documentation Assist with the preparation of forensic accounting reports, valuation reports, and other litigation-related work product Analyze marital and non-marital assets and assist with tracing and characterization of assets Assist with discovery and analysis of financial information Review and analyze business financial statements and tax returns Maintain organized and well-documented workpapers Work closely with attorneys, clients, and other professionals involved in litigation Clearly communicate financial findings in both written and verbal formats Manage multiple engagements and meet established deadlines Required Qualifications Active CPA license is required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong accounting and analytical skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Business valuation experience Family law experience Forensic accounting or litigation support experience Tax preparation and/or tax research experience Experience valuing closely held businesses Experience analyzing business financial statements and tax returns Experience with tracing assets, income, or funds Experience preparing financial analyses or litigation schedules Experience working with attorneys or other professionals in a litigation environment About the Position This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed CPA interested in developing or expanding a career in forensic accounting, business valuation, and family law litigation. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys investigating financial information, performing financial and valuation analyses, solving complex problems, and turning financial data into clear and understandable conclusions. CPA license is required. Family law, business valuation, forensic accounting, and tax experience are all highly valued.
