A well-established law firm based in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team. The firm has built an excellent reputation over many years serving the Sioux City area, with a team of four attorneys and four paralegals/office staff. The firm handles civil litigation across a broad range of practice areas, including family law, breach of contract, construction law, insurance, real estate, and employment matters. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney who wants variety in their caseload and the chance to develop broad litigation experience. Candidates with relevant litigation experience will be given priority, but the firm is also open to training a new attorney or someone looking to transition into civil litigation from another practice area.

Responsibilities:

Representing clients in civil litigation matters across areas including family law, breach of contract, construction law, insurance, real estate, and employment Managing cases from initial client consultation through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and trial as needed Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents Conducting legal research and analysis to support case strategy Appearing in court and at hearings, depositions, and mediations as needed Communicating with clients to explain case status, strategy, and options Collaborating with attorneys and paralegal staff on case management and workflow

Requirements:
